The differences between dating & relationshits

Glug wanted to know, so here’s my opinion of the differences:

DATING: holding hands because its cute

RELATIONSHIT: holding hands because you have no idea how to walk independently when the significant other is beside you

DATING:  seeing each other only when you feel up to it, no pressure if one of you isn’t.

RELATIONSHIT: scheduling every Tuesday, Thursday & weekend for your beau, regardless of what else is going on in your life

DATING: telling a friend a story about something that happened to you and moaning when your other half interrupts

RELATIONSHIT: looking to your other half to finish your sentence or collaborate with your story or confirm something as if they were there in the first place (this, by the way, is my particularly favourite pet hate about being in a relationshit – you completely forget how to tell a story without their input, as if it validates the fact that you “talk about everything” regardless of whether they have anything to do with that subject or not*)

DATING: feeding eachother sweets or snacks and kissing in between

RELATIONSHIT: coming home from work and expecting a cooked meal because it “is their turn, not yours”.

DATING:  sleeping over at their house and making the bed the next morning, bringing all your belongings home with you when you leave

RELATIONSHIT: cursing yourself in your own bathroom because your toothbrush is *still* at their house

DATING: having someone on call to watch movies, hang out or host a shagfest.

RELATIONSHIT: having someone to share your life story, provide support, offer cuddles & kind words of assistance & motivation

DATING: having someone to joke around with about how shit your day was without going into detail, and then cuddle without telling them why you need it.

RELATIONSHIT: knowing exactly which buttons to push where, in and out of bed

DATING: mucking about and being surprised when you come across a pushed button, in and out of bed.

RELATIONSHIT: trusting someone to know your insides

DATING: not trusting someone as far as you could physically throw them

There.  Now you know.  I’m not in a relationshit, okay?

* Yes damnit, I’m jaded.  Bite me.

you still have not told us a single thing about ‘mystery-date-guy’.

throw us a frikkin bone here.

  2. shebee says:

Exmi – whatever biatch. You LOVES me.

Stef – wahahaa. Dude, we gotta get you L.A.I.D. Then you won’t be so forgiving to them horrible things.

  3. Glugster says:

BTW – You have more DATING definitions than RELATIONSHIT definitions. Methinks you are biased. As for my opinion. It’s fun DATING while in a RELATIONSHIT.

  4. shebee says:

Gluggie – I *know*. I did that just for you. To figure it out and tell me how I made a mistake and deleted one RELATIONSHIT paragraphs. LOL. True story.

Exmi – I know, I know… how could you not?

  5. shebee says:

Swiss – I actually can’t take cred for relationshit. I think caths boyf Moose came up with it.

No matter, I’ve colonised it either way…

  6. cathjenkin says:

@SheBee @Swisstwist – relationshit comes from a movie actually. moose and i use it alot though, because its from a movie we both loved seperately and then laughed at cause its well, rather fitting!

  7. shebee says:

@Cath – check you getting all twitter savvy on my blog! whaha. she don’t get no notifications if you @ her. hehe

Actually, thats the one thing I miss about my old blog. The comment follow ups.

  8. sonnyvsdan says:

RELATIONSHIT: trusting someone to know your insides

DATING: not trusting someone as far as you could physically throw them

That would indicate to m,e that you are not all that jaded. surely in this scenario the relationshit is better than the dating option???

  9. shebee says:

SvD – No, I would say that thats just a blunt way of saying that Dating shows no expectation of trust or faith, until you get to the Relationshit stage.

I’m not completely lambasing the relationship story, I’m just telling it like it is, in my own humble opinion. I don’t trust anyone I don’t know very well really, especially men, until I’ve got a reason to.

  10. angel says:

shebee and glugster… don’t make me seperate you two!
and i agree with my glugs of course… i like dating and relationshit COMBINED! my glugs is a pro!!!

  11. jjza says:

mmm. The way you describe relationships Im not sure I would ever want one. Guess describe it that way and then its much easier to pretend not to be in one ? Get to wake up one day and discover oh shit, I’m already in one 🙂

  12. shebee says:

Angel – hee hee hee. I have to give him shit, Bridget doesn’t do it anymore.

JJ – You see, thats where “being clever” comes in… you gots to keep your wits about you.
