On dreaming vividly.

I’ve been having the strangest dreams lately.  About pregnancy.  For the last four nights in a row, I’ve dreamed that I needed to take a pregnancy test.  Now before you all get excited or nervous for me, I’m not pregnant.  I know this because;

a) I’ve checked recently

b) I’m on the pill and religiously stick to the schedule of popping those little buggers before I go to bed at night.

Last night’s dream had me look into a debt consolidation program to ensure that when the baby was born, I could afford to buy it an Audi A3 pram.  Yes, really.

The night before, Jon and I decided to watch the new Underworld movie, you know the one where Kate Beckinsale is a hot vampire?  Of course, when I started dreaming about being pregnant again, I had to take a test.  So in my dream I simply lifted up the sleeve of my sweater, sliced down through the skin on my wrist, pushed the pregnancy pee stick into my veins and waited for it to fill up with blood before the telling two lines popped up to confirm a positive.  I’m so normal, right?!

What the hell is wrong with me?  I looked it up online and according to the all-knowing internet, nothing apparently.  The dream interpretation sites tell me that I’m craving to be more creative.  That I’m bogged down by paperwork and admin that I don’t enjoy.

So I think I should decoupage something, quick.  ‘Cos the next thing you know I might have to blog about how I tested my next dreamed-up pregnancy scare by sticking something up into my eyeballs!

    LOL!
    Weird dreams are often an indication that you need a little more vitamin B1 – You can get it from any pharmacy and it’s not too expensive.
    I’ve also had many very strange pregnancy dreams. I don’t put too much store by those. When I dream about snakes, spiders, or my teeth, however, I sit up and take note (no, not literally, but you know what I mean…)
    Snakes for me have always meant someone’s got it in for me, spiders have always meant good luck (usually I win something) and dreaming about my teeth falling out has always preceded someone dying within a couple of weeks of my having the dream…

    Lookit what I found 🙂
    You feel you are being put to the test as to whether you are prepared or ready for changes happening in your life. Alternatively, this dream may be literal in meaning and address your anxieties/fears of getting pregnant.

    I once had a very vivid dream about the tuna run while I was pregnant, in which I was terrified of dolphins but felt quite comfortable patting a shark.
