@GumballSA & weird things at Cresta

Earlier today I was tweeting about odd things happening at Cresta. Shoppers at Cresta mall were faced with a few things that turned out to be a little weird. Synchronised swimmers sunbathing in the middle of the mall, plants shaking unexpectedly, dustbins moving around, runaway trollies and people bouncing around on pogos. I’m now allowed to say what it was all about.

In fact, before I do, I’ll show you some YouTube evidence here. [Update: this is the latest wrap up video, very cool!]

So, What was all the fuss about? It turns out it was a mini flash mob that is part of a campaign involving a whole bunch of public stunts to get attention for the launch of the second season of The Amazing World of Gumball! You know, that show where “normal just got a little weird” and it starts on Wednesday 5 December at 17:25 on DStv channel 301.

For those of you who don’t know, The Amazing World of Gumball is a multi-award-winning animated sitcom for 6-11 year olds (plus Jon and I) and cartoon fans of all ages (including Jon and I) shot using a unique combination of live action backgrounds with 2D and 3D animation. It’s super cool.

Want in on the Gumball action?
A sneak peak of the show and the new action-adventure game Dino Donkey Dash (played 18 million times since its online debut in the US this August) are now available on www.cartoonnetworkafrica.com/gumball

So there you haz it. For all you readers who have kids, and for others who are kids themselves (like Jon and I), PVR that shiz!

Wednesday 5 December at 17:25 on DStv channel 301.
