Give Away: Pick n Pay Taste of Christmas Double Tickets

My friends at Pick n Pay just gave me an inside scoop that they’re launching the Pick n Pay Taste of Christmas in Jozi this year.  How exciting!  Very, if you’re a Christmas nutter like I am.

On the back of the hugely successful Taste Festivals in Cape Town, Durban and Johannesburg, this year sees the launch of Pick n Pay Taste of Christmas at Joburg’s Coca Cola Dome, from 7 – 9 December 2012.  A handful of the country’s best chefs will take to the stage to help you finesse your light entertaining, refine that ambitious festive menu and prepare for the ultimate season of extravagance.

Showcasing a variety of great Christmas gifts and ideas ranging from food producers, home ware, fashion, accessories and art, it is destined to become the ultimate festive gifting, food and drink event.

A feast of great restaurants, world-class chefs, cheese and wine and chocolate tasting awaits as Pick n Pay Taste of Christmas launches your holiday season with style.

The huge selling point is that we’ll all be able to get our festive season shopping done under one roof.  Without having to fight off the hordes of annoying last minute mall shoppers who push and shove and steal presents off the shelf before you have a chance to even lift your arms to reach.

So now, my readers, I present to you two benefits just from reading my blog.

1.  You can book now for the Taste Gift Ticket Special (but hurry, it ends on 15 November) for just R100.  What does this get you?

  • You will receive entrance to the festival
  • A tasting glass
  • A bottle of Niel Joubert Sauvignon Blanc 2012

2.  A give away competition!  If you would like to win a double ticket, plus the extras listen above, there are two ways of winning:

  • Follow & tweet me the names of two chefs who will be at Taste of Christmas and use the hashtag #TasteofXmas (hint – look on the website)
  • Comment right here on the blog on why you need to win, and share this post to Facebook & Twitter if you can (the more you share the more entries you get)

  • The selected winner will be at the discretion of the judge (moi) and no correspondence will be entered into, unless you’d like to send me compliments, velociraptor teeth or nekkid pictures of a unicorn
  • But no, seriously, each entry will get written down on a piece of paper, chucked into a hat and I’ll draw out the winner so it’ll all be fair
  • Tickets will be emailed to you
  • Winner will be announced on Twitter and in the blog comments, so make sure you subscribe to comment replies
  • If the winner doesn’t come forward within 24 hours of winner announcement, a new winner will be selected

We went to the Taste of Joburg which was outstanding so I am sure the Taste of Xmas will be just as amazing.

  2. Shebee says:

So I wrote all the entry names down (and repeated them as many times as the entrants shared, as we discussed yesterday) and put them all into this jar (I couldn’t find a hat, soz):

Then I stuck my hand into the cookie jar and pursed my lips like I was saying “whoooooooooo?” like this:

And then I tossed the jar around a bit to mix them all up and came up with this name right here:

In case you can’t read my handwriting (the photo is blurry – this shit is hard to do one-handed), it’s Justin McCall! Well done! See you at the Taste of Christmas!

Cannot wait to have a day out with my husband at the Pick & Pay taste of Christmas. How romantic!!
